Events and Event Venues in Leeds

Events in Leeds fall into three categories. The first is sporting events. With the whole region being very committed to certain sports and the city itself being host to several of those teams there is always a sporting event on to occupy the more active visitor. In the summer months the cricket season takes over the minds of most of the local sports fans and with the famous Headingly ground being just a short drive from the city centre visiting cricket fanatics will be more than catered for. The autumn, winter and spring months see the rugby union, rugby league and football seasons take over the sporting calendar.

The second category is cultural events. The city hosts a staggering number of exhibitions, plays and performances at several venues around the city. These vary from art exhibitions on a particular theme, to theatre productions and further onto performances staged by various national and local dance companies. Many people travel from miles around to see some of these events and they are often booked solid so be sure to get your ticket well in advance

The third category is community events. These are held not just in the city centre but in several of the surrounding districts and are usually focused on providing a fun day out for the whole family with games, displays and activities for everyone.
